How many cups of chicken does a chicken breast make?

I am going to use chicken from a roast I made for chicken salad. I have a recipe that calls for 4 chicken breasts. About how many cups of chicken should I set aside for the chicken salad?

1. If each chicken breast is 4 ounces, each breast would be half a cup. So you should reserve 2 cups of chicken.
2. all chicken breasts are different sizes.... If you cube up one breast...and measure it..... you will have a better idea, but the recipe calls for 4 chicken breasts.... so at least four cups...
3. I would guess a whole chicken breast with bone weighs around 12 oz. these days when they say chicken breast it is a half so I guess a little math might help. I know what you mean ,every thing should go by weight.
4. U need to have at least 2 cups of chicken which should equal 4 medium chicken breasts or two large chicken breasts..
