- Oh yes, very good indeed, you don't even need to buy one of those holder that they make for it. Just drink half to 1/4 of the beer, then put what ever seasoning you will be using into the beer and give it a little mix. and tehn rub some of the seasoning on the outside of the chicken. place a sheet pan or cookie sheet in the oven, and place the chicken with can up it's butt on to the pan, and cook at 350 for about an hour to and hour and a half. You can also do it on the BBQ, just put the coals on 1 side and the chicken on the opisite side of the coals and leave it for at least the first 45 min. then chack it about every 15 min. the skin gets nice and crispy and with beer up the butt the meat will stay nice and juicy.
- You can buy beer can chicken holders at somewhere like Wal Mart, but you can also stand the chicken up with the can in it, but be careful, don't shake it or it will fall over.
- yea you need a chicken holder
- I grill them all the time in the summer. They do make little stands that you put the chicken in but you don't have to. the beer can and the chickens legs will hold it up just fine. Make sure you inject the Marinade into the breast and thighs and be sure to put a good rub on it. Best chicken I ever had
- http://www.bayou-classic.com/html/new_products.htm buy this product. it's cheap i got mine at walmart for like $5. and the recipe is on it. yes it's VERY good
- It's delicious, use one of those big cans of Fosters beer,It's wide enough to hold the chicken without falling over!
- you put the beer can in the chicken cavity and you secure it with the wire thing (I don;t know what it;s called) that you would roast it with.
- Yes, and it was so moist and delicious! and the can should balance it.
- You can rest the chicken on its legs and the beer can will also help hold it up. It may take a few times to get it to stay, but it will work. I make it all the time and my family loves it.
- my mom didn't need anything.Either it stood up, or it didn't need to stand up- tasted wonderful!!
- YEs... Find something else to put the beer in though. Cooking with aluminum in not healthy ! ! ! ! !
- Well the only reason your beer can wouldn't hold it up is because you have a big chicken with a little can of beer... So then now you know what to do... Go by a 20 once can and you problem will be solved.. I do this all the time.
- Yes, my boyfriend is a terrific griller and he's made it a couple of times. It comes out really tender, moist, and quite tasty. They actually sell device to make the chicken stand up...I've seen them at Bed, Bath, and Beyond.
- The bird will sit on the can just fine. It is delish grilled this way you can marinade the bird first for added flavor. Of course I like mine just smoked on the grill. Your talking about "drunk chicken"!
- Yes, it is awesome, so tender and juicy. Here is the thingy you can buy to help hold it up, and remember you can do it on the grill or in the oven http://www.thegadgetsource.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=tgs&Product_Code=681129150014
- I have done it the way you have described it and it does work...and chicken done on the BBQ that way is very good...
- We call this Drunken Chicken and WalMart sells a little metal stand that you set the chicken on with the beer can inside. It makes great tender chicken. Can be done on the grill or in the oven.
