  1. Yes and you can use any liquid in it that you would like to flavor the chicken. It works quite well just put a pan to catch drippings underneath
  2. yes you can use whatever you want, but why would you want to use pop? It seems that it might be gross. The beer can flavor is the best.
  3. you can use anything in the can if you dont want beer. Sodas, lemonade, juices, or any other flavorful liquid will do. Just be sure you have a pan or dish to set the bird in to collect the greasy drips
  4. Yes you can use soda. It will give the chicken a diffrent taste. The reason you use a can is to cook the chicken upright, exposing all surface areas to the heat. The liquid inside the can provides steam which mostens the chicken. Do not use a full can only 3/4.They do make devices which work like the can ,they are wire.I have never herd this method used in an oven but if you try place a pan underneath.
  5. The idea of the beer can is to prop up the chicken and to provide extra moisture for the chicken. So you can use any canned liquid... How about using a can of chicken broth instead of beer or soda?
  6. Yes, you can buy a rack actually that will hold the chicken upright and hold the can at the same time that is made for the oven. You can use coke or pepsi in place of the beer, however you need to remember that coke and pepsi are much sweeter so you may want to add a bit of lemon to the chicken to cut the sweet taste. :)
  7. No. The beer is part of the cooking/flavoring. You're supposed to use a full can of beer - open the dang thing first, of course, unless you wanna replace an oven and remodel your kitchen! Don't laugh, I have a cousin who stuck an unopened can of beer in her oven inside a turkey. Ka- BLOOEY!!! Whadda mess! Seriously, the beer is for flavoring - and soda will NOT cut it!
  8. yep use lemonade,7up,sprite,coke(pepsi), or just about anything. it really only adds a touch of flavor but keeps it juicy. if you cook wih alcohol it cooks out so theres no alcohol left And only use a 1/2 full can☺
  9. an empty can is to light and will not hold the chicken upright for duration of cooking you can use water in the can 1/3 full you need the liquid to help cook the chicken i use a rub on the chicken and add extra rub to the water in the can. yummy
